2004 Winter Track Survey Results

34 - in favor of dropping relays (38 %)
55 - do not drop relays (62%)

- drop only if distance med or 4x800 added to individual meet (10-11%)
- add 200m to individual meet (4-5%)
- have some sort of sectional qualifying round
- change events to 300, 500, 1000, 1600, 3200 (55 and 55h)
- change 4x400 to 4x200 in individual meet
- develop and enforce higher entry standards for Group Meets (30-34%)
- remove 4x400 from individual meet (4-5%)
- amount of time between heats/events seemed excessive (Group 4)
- state sponsor some developmental meets
- penalize schools with bogus seed times (4-5%)
- check Wildwood and other sites for these events (2-2%)
- look for another venue (11-12%)
- hold only M of C in Jadwin - groups elsewhere
- realign groups (2-2%)
- develop entry standards for relay meets (2-2%)
- add long jump and triple jump
- add more vendors to raise money
- run a 1 day all groups together relay championship with strict qualifying standards
- state should build its own indoor facility (7-8%)

The Winter Track Committee will use these results as a basis for recommendations for changes in the winter track program.
