Below are the 2006 all-state cross-country teams as selected for New Jersey Track, 
the only all-state team which is open to all athletes in the state regardless of which school 
they may attend.

       The team is chosen on the basis of the full season performance of each runer with greatest 
eight given to the championship season (county, conference and state meets). The boys' team 
is headed by all-group champion Craig Forys, who also won the Northeast Footlocker trials and 
set a course record at Holmdel County Park of 15:15.2, ran the classic 2.5M in 12:10.7, breaking 
Brad Hudson's 23-year-old record and the 5K there in 15:15.5, just missing that course standard.

      Topping the girls team are Danielle Tauro of Southern Ocean Regional who won her second 
straight all-group title in 17:47 and Ashley Higginson, who led Colts Neck to victory in that race 
finishing second to Tauro in 17:50 and then placed fourth in the Footlocker Trials and won the 
National team race in Oregon, wading through a muddy course in 19:18.4.
